This page is about us..... The Magovern Family

I'm Florence, Charlie's business partner and spouse since 1982. I met him by chance on a chair lift in Vail, Colorado. Our 2 daughters, Alanna and Alison, both college graduates, help with the family business when they aren't busy with their own endeavors. Follow the above links for more about them.

In the early days of our business, the main focus was the lapidary trade from manufacturing to selling finished stones, hence the name: The Stone Company. Over the years, the scope of our interest has grown to a much broader category of natural history services. Today we offer traveling exhibits as well as fossil acquisition and preparation services.

Our traveling exhibit Hatching the Past is a blend of arts and science that investigates the mysteries of dinosaur family life and how they cared for their young. Please visit the exhibits section of our site to learn more about it.

We remain a small family business offering our personal attention to every detail. Over the years, we have developed an extensive international network for acquiring natural history specimens as well as high quality reproductions. We have served jewelry shops, galleries, collectors and museums throughout the U.S. and abroad.

National Geographic has a web story about Charlie's discovery of the dinosaur embryo "Baby Louie" that was pictured in the May 1996 issue of the magazine. You can click below to see it.
