# 447 Compsognathus longpipes

Compsognathus had long, powerful hind legs which made it a fast and agile runner. Only one specimen of this miniature dinosaur has ever been found making it even more rare than Archaeopteryx. The original specimen described by Wagner in 1859 is housed in the Bayerische Staatssammlung for Paleontology in Munich, Germany
